That's a different failure mode than a slow manual process. A compliance officer who makes a mistake doing a manual DSR can catch it on review. An agent that runs on incomplete knowledge can process thousands of requests before anyone notices the pattern.

Privacy teams will need to decide whether they're operators of these agents or reviewers of what agents recommend — and that structural question has implications for staffing, accountability, and audit defensibility.
The shift from governance-as-checkpoint to governance-as-infrastructure is moving faster than most compliance programs expected. Whether that produces faster, more accurate operations or a new category of automated regulatory exposure depends significantly on how seriously enterprises treat the knowledge layer underneath the agent.
